Green Market Square

Conveniently situated on Green Market Square in the heart of the City, visitors can experience lively street entertainment while browsing through a variety of hand-crafted items ranging from beaded jewellery, candles and clothing to antiques and collectables.

Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens & Craft Market

The Kirstenbosch Craft Market takes place in an idyllic setting close to the Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden. The atmosphere is leisurely and there are a variety of high quality crafts on offer as well as popular pony rides for children. The market operates on the last Sunday of the month from September to May and on the 2nd and 3rd Sundays in December, weather permitting.

Mariner's Wharf

South Africa's first harbour front emporium. Mariner's Wharf seafood is legendary and besides lobsters aplenty there is warm smoked Snoek done the old-fashioned way, and an incredible fish market dramatically built around the hull of the Kingfisher, a 1940's trawler from the Cape Coast fleet.

Ratanga Junction Theme Park

The Ratanga Junction Theme Park, situated within the Century City development. offers more than 30 theme park attractions ranging from rollercoaster rides, family rides, interactive play area, daily stunt shows and a host of restaurants and pubs. Laser shows, concerts, street dancing and special parties are on the drawing board for night time entertainment.

Robben Island

Robben Island is one of the most significant historical sites in South Africa which achieved notoriety for having goaled former President Nelson Mandela. On offer is a three-hour guided tour of the prison as well as walking and cycling tours. Departures are from the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.

Table Mountain

A world heritage site, the summit of Cape Town's world-famous landmark is 1086 m above sea level. Visitors can reach the top by revolving cable car or the mountain offers numerous walking trails. There is a restaurant and souvenir shop on the summit.

Wine Route

The Cape's world-famous wine estates are waiting to be discovered throughout the nearby Winelands.

Whale Watching

Each year Southern Right whales migrate into the coastal waters of the Cape Metropolitan Area to calve and nurse their young. The animals, mere metres from the shore, provide unsurpassed whale watching opportunities between June and November. Humpbacks migrate through the region between May and December each year, while Bryde's whales are found slightly further offshore all year round.
