Gardens
Explore the fifteen hectares of beautiful garden surrounding the hotel. An eclectic collection of indigenous and exotic plants and trees has been assembled to provide one of the most interesting and well laid out hotel gardens in the country.

Below the hotel an indigenous aloe garden flows into orchards of macadamia trees. Linking onto one of the farm walks, a selection from one of South Africa's best-known clivia collections, The McNeil Collection, has been planted. This captivating garden borders a small stream, canopied by grand, indigenous trees.

Maps of marked walking paths are available at Reception – take a leisurely stroll or a brisk hike on one of the many routes – from 30 minutes to 3 hours. Secluded spots along the way provide the perfect setting for daydreaming, bird watching or mountain gazing and for added enjoyment, simple or sumptuous picnic basket lunches may be taken and enjoyed on the outing.

Estate Products
The 560ha Estate is a working farm, and several products are produced under the farm name of Cheviot. The farm has its own water bottling plant, producing pure, refreshing Cheviot spring water available in still or sparkling form, and is served in most of the nearby game lodges. During the nut season guests are welcome to visit the Cheviot Nut Plant which processes macadamia nuts grown on the farm for export and domestic use.

The Estate also roasts, grinds and packs their own delicious coffee using imported beans, and produces a small quantity of cold pressed macadamia oil and marula oil, all of which may be purchased in The Shop.

Visit our Nougat Kitchen which makes the tastiest, most unforgettable nougat in the country. Home-grown macadamia nuts, almonds and honey are the main ingredients. The full range of nougat products can be purchased at the Nougat Kitchen or in the Shop.
