The onsite Bunkers Restaurant, with its pale, creamy coloured Beechwood furniture and soft finishes in earthy terracotta and gold tones offers guests an atmosphere of pure serenity. Subtle music balances gentle conversation, maintaining an air of intimacy amongst diners. Bunkers Restaurant and Bar is L-shaped can be divided into two private sections and can cater for up to 120 guests. For private functions requiring a dance floor, a maximum of 80 guests may be accommodated.
At the Bunkers Restaurant cuisine is traditionally South African with influences of Xhosa, English and Cape Malay. Hearty Breakfasts, a la carte lunches and evening dinners are served. A significant selection of wines is available to compliment your meal, while an after-dinner cigar and good single malt can be enjoyed in the library. For that unforgettable event or function - a number of set menus, buffets and special occasion menu options are available upon request.
We are happy to cater for guests with special dietary requirements and reservations or the restaurant should be notified of special needs. For larger groups booking the hotel, exciting alternative dining options are available with prior arrangement. Such dinner options are perfect for corporate groups, team-builds and private functions.

- Bush Braai – What could be better than an exhilarating evening under the stars in the Bushman Sands Game Reserve? Accompanied by qualified Bushman Sands Rangers, guests are invited to indulge in good food and good company overlooking the magnificent New Year’s Dam.
- Traditional Braai – the mouth watering aromas of a true blue “braai vleis” drifts in amongst the traditional mud huts of the Bushman Sands Cultural Village offering guests a relaxed and causal evening around the fire.
- Shebeen Dinner – join us for evening festivities reminiscent of the vibrant and lively atmosphere of a proudly South African Shebeen (ale house). Guests are invited to experience a feast of traditional foods. Seated at newsprint covered tables set with a knife, fork, spoon, enamel mugs & plates, willies beer glasses and half tin-can ashtrays, under the twinkling light of naked bulbs strung in amongst the trees and the flickering of bottle held candles, the crackle of the bonfire provides the perfect accompaniment to hearty conversation.
- Local African dancers, whose contagious energy and inherent rhythm will awaken your senses and get the “mojo” flowing, can be arranged to enhance such Theme Dinners and functions.
